Just wanted to do something winter themed

A4-ish size, watercolours, coloured pencils and a little white ink. Referenced own photo.

The title is a jab at the fact that none of the manufacturers of christmas decorations in England seem to know what a bloody reindeer actually looks like

Of course, poro is Finnish for reindeer. Hyvää itsenäisyyspäivää, Suomi!

You are so right about this christmas stuff! I noticed they mostly use red deer or even roe deer- looking decorations around here now. (Doesn't bother me too much though, because I love all of them

) But I think people should know how a reindeer really looks like. I even witnessed some kids at the zoo saying that the reindeer did not look like actual reindeer..*facepalm* I also think it is awful how reindeer are potrayed in children's movies- they mostly look like some oversized roe deer.
Ah, anyway: beautiful piece of art, we definitely need more (realistic) reindeer art here on dA

Sorry for my late reply!
I love all of the deer as well of course, but I can't help being pedantic

If people wanna buy deer for christmas, that's cool (there's at least two regular deer on my tree), it's just annoying when they're labelled "reindeer" and they're tall and short furred etc

I can't believe kids at the zoo thought that

A friend of mine didn't realise reindeer were real until recent years... I'm so glad there are some people like yourself who actually know a reindeer when they see one
